Football v Homophobia FIFA 21 Cup

Charity FIFA Tournament to take place for Football.v.Homophobia

We, in partnership with BLAGSS (Brighton LGBT+ Sports Society), BN1 Gaming and Football.v.Homophobia are running a FIFA 21 Tournament on PlayStation, Xbox and PC on Saturday 27 February 2021 at 11am.

Usually ourselves and BLAGSS compete in exhibition matches during February to show support for Football.v.Homophobia month of action.

However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are taking this year’s activities online. We’re also inviting the rest of the county to join us; players, coaches and volunteers at all our grassroots clubs at Sussex will be able to enter to represent their club whilst football remains suspended.

All matches in the knockout tournament will take place on Saturday 27 February. There will be separate tournaments for each console (PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X and PC). Entrants will be required to make an account on Challengermode, which will be used to create the tournament draw and will provide a safe and secure platform for players to arrange to play each other.

The winner of the tournament for both Playstation & Xbox will receive a £100 voucher for their club from Premier Sports

The chosen charity for the tournament is Mind Out, a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people based in Brighton. They work to improve the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ+ communities and to make mental health a community concern.

We hope that all players, as well as the rest of the Sussex football community will donate what they can to support the charity.
