The Sussex County FA offers a wide range of nationally recognised coaching and medical courses. Immediately below is a list of all upcoming courses, below that, a list of all courses with a description, further information on each course, and a list of those courses, is available by clicking the heading.

 Level 1 in Coaching Football
The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football course is the first step on The FA Coach Education Pathway. If you want to start or are currently coaching football, and wish to learn more, this is the perfect course for you.

Level 2 in Coaching Football
This nationally recognised qualification, awarded by 1st4sport Qualifications will take you on a journey through the core components of the England DNA - How We Coach, How We Play, How We Support and The Future Player, helping you to begin shaping or refining your own coaching philosophy.

Level 3 UEFA B Licence
For participants aged 20 years and above and who have completed the Level 2 Qualification in Coaching Football. The Level 3 UEFA B Licence administered and delivered solely by FA Learning on a regional basis. No Level 3 UEFA B Licence Courses will be delivered by the Sussex County FA and interested candidates should follow the link above for a full course description and links to course enrolment. 

 Junior Football Leaders
This course is aimed at 12-15 years old and will provide a basic introduction to leadership skills in football by introducing candidates to the four main areas. This course can also be delivered for your school or club on request.

Emergency Aid Workshops
The FA Emergency Aid award is a 3 hour workshop which includes basic first aid, CPR and is a necessary prerequisite element for all FA/1st4Sport Coaching awards. The award is valid for 3 years from the date of issue and must be regularly renewed in order to comply with FA CPD regulations. Emergency Aid Workshops for clubs are also catered for but please be aware that we need at least 20 working days notice to arrange them.

Basic First Aid for Sport
The FA Basic First Aid for Sport course is a foundation sports first aid course aimed at “lay first aiders”, specifically coaches, teachers, parents and volunteers, who are responsible for the provision of first aid when supporting sporting activities.

• Coach In-Service / Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Events
Sussex County FA delivers an on-going, in service workshop programme for coach development.

Goalkeeping Coaching Award Level 1
This is a course for coaches who wish to learn the basic technical aspects of Goalkeeping. It is an ideal course for those coaches who have completed the Level 1 Award in Coaching Football and who wish to develop their technical expertise in Goalkeeping further.

Goalkeeping Coaching Award Level 2
This course is the next step for coaches who participated in the FA Goalkeeping Coaching Award Level 1 Course to be able to further build on the skills already learnt. The FA Goalkeeping Coaching Award Level 2 will provide candidates with the further practical knowledge and ability to organise and develop key skills and techniques.

• Youth Award Module 3 - Developing the Player
This course, which forms the third of three parts of the FA Youth Award, is only available to coaches who are minimum FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate qualified and hold both the FA Youth Award Modules 1 and 2. 

Safeguarding Children Workshops
A comprehensive three-hour interactive workshop, mandatory for all FA qualifications.

Welfare Officer Workshops
Three hour workshop is mandatory for anyone taking on the role of welfare officer.

 Coaching Futsal Level 1
The aim of this course is to provide candidates with an understanding of the techniques and skills related to the game of Futsal. This course will help candidates organise and deliver basic Futsal practices. It will also provide candidates with an introduction to the structure of the game, the laws and the role Futsal can play in developing underlying skills and techniques.

Coaching Disabled Footballers
The Coaching Disabled Footballers course is designed to give football coaches and teachers ideas and practices for the inclusion of disabled players in football sessions within mainstream or impairment specific sessions.

Mentoring Adults
A six hour, classroom based, course designed for football coaches, acting as a mentor and providing support to other coaches, within a club environment. The course provides a safe and positive environment in which to develop the skills required to become an effective mentor.
