From Lewes to international footballer: Chris Greatwich Interview

Former Lewes, Bognor Regis and Philippines International, Chris Greatwich opens up on his career as a player.

Chris Greatwich grew up in Sussex with one dream to become a professional footballer. Little did he know that years later he would become a legend of the Philippine national team racking up almost 50 appearances.

In an extremely honest and open interview, Chris tells us of the struggles he had playing football in Sussex and becoming disillusioned with the game.

When Chris was let go by Brighton it was tough for him to take and the idea of dropping down the leagues wasn’t the path he saw himself going down.

In 2003, he pursued an education and soccer scholarship in America playing for Drury University in Missouri and Hartwick College in New York. Then, a year later, he was invited to play internationally for the country of his mother’s birth, Philippines.

Below you can see our interview with the man himself and how he got to where he is now as director of the Kaya FC academy in Philippines.
