FvH 2024 HERO

FvH Month of Action

February is Football.v.Homophobia Month of Action

We’re proud to once again be supporting the Football.v.Homophobia (FvH) campaign, by hosting and participating in an exhibition match for self-identifying males/non-binary individuals against Brighton LGBTQ+ Sports Society (BLAGSS) and an exhibition match against Hollingbury Hawks for self-identifying females/non-binary individuals.

The FvH campaign, an international initiative challenging discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression in football, will be at the forefront of these efforts.

The campaign seeks to eradicate homophobia and transphobia from football, paving the way for an environment where everyone can enjoy the beautiful game without fear of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Actively promoting the mantra of 'Football for All,' we encourage the active participation of the LGBTQ+ community in Sussex football.

This commitment has recently led to BLAGSS affiliating with us, enabling them to participate in affiliated football within the county.

The friendly matches against BLAGSS, and for the first time against Hollingbury Hawks, symbolise the celebration of affiliations and serve as a platform to champion the values of the FvH campaign, which we’ve steadfastly supported since 2010.

To start the day there will be also be an Equality Workshop designed for grassroots clubs, aimed at helping make Sussex football an inclusive space.
