Inaugural Careers in Football Day huge success
In partnership with Careers in Football, we ran a half-day event at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday for 16-25-year-olds looking to find their next step in a career in football.
The day started with a two-hour workshop hosted by Careers in Football, the purpose of which, to engage the young audience and get them thinking about the range of roles available in an ever-growing industry.
It was great to see a wide range of young people in attendance from a range of colleges and universities who all openly engaged and got the most out of an invaluable workshop.
Following the workshop, attendees had the opportunity to network not just with each other but with a range of our partners in attendance. This included, Football for Future, The Football Association, Bexhill College, Sussex Disability Football League and the University of Chichester.
Our Football Development Officer and organiser of the event, Sean Lofting, had this to say: “Events like this aim to inspire the next generation of leaders in football and thanks to Careers in Football and our partner organisations, lots of young people had the opportunity to take their first or next steps in the industry.”
It was the first big event we have launched since the introduction of our NextGen Sussex Football programme which is aimed at 16-25-year-olds looking for their next step in the industry.
