Adult County Cups revised for 2020/21

2020/21 County Cups Update

With the imminent announcement of our Adult County Cup draws, we can now provide an update on this seasons revised structure.

There was of course no Sussex Community Shield to kick-off the season this year with the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup being unfortunately curtailed early last season due to COVID-19, but we remain hopefully it will return as the curtain raiser to the 2021/22 season.

The Sussex Principle RUR Charity Cup will not be taking place this season, the decision has reluctantly been made to help ease the pressure on an already congested Southern Combination Football League fixture list due to the late start.

However, following a consultation with all Senior clubs we are pleased to confirm that the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup will be running in the 2020/21 season - clubs were overwhelming supportive of the competition taking place and we have received 47 entries despite entry not being mandatory this season.

In a change to our normal competition rules we have tweaked the criteria for the Sussex Women’s Challenge Trophy and Sussex Women’s Challenge Cup to allow both competitions to run this season. All clubs competing in the Sussex County Women & Girls Football League will contest the Trophy and all other Senior clubs will be entered into the Cup.

All other County Cup competitions will take place as normal with the draws for each to released very soon...
