Youth Council Vacancies

Join our Youth Council!

We are looking for two young people aged between 16 and 24 to represent children and young people and to help shape and develop football in Sussex.

You will work alongside our Youth Working Committee to inform decision making surrounding young people’s involvement within football.

We have the following Youth Council positions available for application:
• Coaching Engagement Officer
• Engagement Support Officer

The vision of the Youth Council is to inspire, empower and provide a voice for all children and young people to influence change, and develop a lasting legacy in football.

Recognising diversity and promoting inclusion is a priority for the Youth Council in our efforts to make football a game For All.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend at least 70% of all Youth Council meetings and events that are delivered throughout the year.

The aims of the Youth Council will be drawn from The FA’s National Game Strategy and developed from ideas within the team itself. The group will work cohesively to impact upon the number of children and young people participating and volunteering within football, as well as developing a network of young people to effectively deliver specific projects.

All members will be expected to assist in the running of multiple events throughout the year and aid practical delivery where needed.

There are a number of benefits to joining our Youth Council such as experiencing work-related skills that replicate the tasks performed by our staff members, which will help develop your employability and support college or university applications. You will also receive regular Continuous Professional Development opportunities and the opportunity to access The FA Leadership Academy.

Members will receive Sussex County FA branded kit and work alongside a The FA’s National Youth Council, which is made up of some of the most talented and passionate young people involved in football across the country.

The Sussex County FA take the safeguarding and protection of children seriously and anyone working with us will be required to follow the County FA policy. Due to the nature of these posts, the successful candidates may be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check through The FA Criminal Records Check process.
