We are looking to recruit a Pitch Advisor to support the delivery of the FA Pitch Improvement Programme in Sussex.
The role will involve carrying out pitch improvement visits, as and when agreed, to our affiliated clubs and local authorities.
Each visit would take approx. 90 minutes and include a thorough pitch inspection based on set criteria, support and advice to those who look after sites, in order to gather a better understanding of sports turf management practices and produce a pre-set Pitch Assessment Report with recommendations.
The aim is to raise standards of grass football pitches across Sussex. Candidates should able to demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of turf care with a proven background in sports turf management, with excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills and be well organised.
Membership of the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) would be considered an advantage.
The role will report directly to the IOG Regional Pitch Advisor and will work closely with our Stadium Manager. The Pitch Improvement Programme is supported by The FA and The Football Foundation.
The Pitch Advisor will be employed on a casual contract basis and paid per site visit/re-visit, as well as travel expenses, and all necessary equipment will be provided.
