Grassroots football award winners announced

Recognising and rewarding our grassroots football heroes

The FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Award Winners from the Sussex football community have been announced!

The awards aim to recognise and reward volunteers, match officials, clubs and leagues across the county who have made a difference to grassroots football in their local community.

Our county winners were selected from over 90 nominations and our judging panel, selected the very best and most inspiring nominations in each category.

All award winners receive a KitLocker voucher, and an award from us which will be presented in due course.

Our chief executive, Ken Benham, commented: “I’d like to congratulations each and every one of our award winners for their tremendous contribution to grassroots football in Sussex!”

“Unfortunately, COVID-19 means we can’t honour our winners at our usual annual Awards Evening this year, but I hope we can find an equally special way to recognise and reward them in these difficult times, because they truly deserve it.”
