Our Awards Evening took place at the American Express Community Stadium on Thursday 5 September 2019 and recognised the achievements of those people and organisations that drive grassroots football in Sussex.

The evening encompasses The FA & McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, The FA Referee Awards, and various Sussex County FA awards championing volunteers, clubs, organisations and referees.

Nearly two hundred people from across Sussex attended the event to recognise the invaluable work which is being carried out by this year’s recipients. 

The evening was hosted by BBC Sussex’s Johnny Cantor, with special guest presenters David Crick, who is The Referee’s Association representative on The FA Council, Paul Dolan, who is Senior Regional Manager at The FA for the South East region and former Premier League and FIFA referee, Martin Bodenham.

Martin also gave a motivational talk following his career where he reached the top of both the football and cricketing worlds.

Over 35 awards were given out across the evening culminating in the celebration of fifty years’ service awards.
