Sussex to start away in pursuit of Cup
Our Under-18’s Representative Squad will begin their pursuit of The FA County Youth Cup away to either Gloucestershire FA or Bedfordshire FA.
The squad will be looking to venture further into the latter stages of the competition this season after exiting at the hands of Norfolk FA at the quarter-final stage last year.
This will be the 76th season of the competition, which sees the Under-18’s Representative Squads, from entering County FA’s, compete for the title.
Sussex is one of the sides to receive a bye into the second round and will make the journey to either Gloucestershire FA or Bedfordshire FA with the tie to be completed by Sunday 8 December 2019.
Gloucestershire narrowly lost out in the fourth round last year to Cheshire 4-2 on penalties, whilst Bedfordshire had an early first round exit to Cornwall in a 5-0 defeat.
Sussex County FA Under-18’s Representative Squad manager Jay Lovett said: “We can’t wait to give this a go this year, build on previous performances and better our result from last season.
“This year we would love to go one further, make it to the last four and really challenge, we look forward to kicking off against either Gloucestershire or Bedfordshire!”
