The Final of the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup is due to take place on Wednesday 9 May 2018 between Brighton & Hove Albion and Crawley Town.

Crawley Town manager, Harry Kewell is enjoying his first season in charge and has ambitions of clinching the cup on Wednesday evening: “This is my first season as a manager so it would be nice to win a trophy.

The Reds have not won the prestigious cup since 2005 and although they have come close more recently - reaching the final last season and losing out to the same opponents in extra-time - Kewell is confident that his side will put in a strong performance.

“I wasn’t the manager a year ago, but from what I gather it wasn’t the strongest Crawley team that played but it certainly will be this time,” he said.

“We want to win it for ourselves, for this season’s squad and to reward our supporters who have been great this season.”

Since the ex-Leeds United and Liverpool player came on board, there have been various changes to the side and he said: “The game was a year ago with a completely different team and management.

“We know it will be tough, Simon Rusk has done a superb job with Brighton under-23s this season.”

Crawley’s form has dropped off recently and Kewell said: “We have had some disappointing results recently, but our form in those games has been pretty good, we just haven’t had much luck.”

Kewell is expecting Rusk to field a strong side and said: “They have home advantage and as holders I'm sure they will be desperate to retain the trophy.”

Wednesday evening will be a perfect opportunity for Kewell and his team to finish on a high.

Tickets for the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup Final, at the American Express Community Stadium, on Wednesday 9 May 2018 are still available and can be purchased directly through us by visiting our headquarters in Lancing.

Tickets purchased from the ticket office at the stadium on the day will be priced at £12.00 Adult (17+), £6.00 Concession (65+ and students with valid student ID card) and £4.00 Child (16 and under), plus a £1.50 per ticket booking fee. Tickets at the stadium on the day will be available to purchase up until half-time (approx.. 8.30pm).

Turnstiles will open at 6.00pm with Brighton & Hove Albion supporters seated in the north end of the West Stand Lower and Crawley Town fans seated in the south end of the West Stand Lower. Seating will be allocated in both sections.
