Following on from being the first RA-FA Youth Council in the country to achieve Tier 1 status, the group have now gone one better and been awarded the Tier 2 accolade.

The Development Programme was launched by the national RA-FA Youth Council early in the 2017/18 season, and is designed to provide opportunities to up skill the Youth Council workforce, assist in the running and recruitment of Youth Councils, and offer networking opportunities for the Youth Council workforce.

The programme has three set levels Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. Tier 1 highlights what the national council feel are the basics that all Youth Councils should have to be able to run efficiently. Tier 2 looks at maintaining the work from Tier 1 whilst also looking at developing County Youth Council members to enable them to become better volunteers as well as developing transferable skills. Tier 2 also looks the County Youth Council’s relationship with their County FA.

To achieve the status levels, the Sussex RA-FA Youth Council were required to submit evidence based on their group structure and different roles within the organisations. They also had to provide various planning documents from numerous events run over the past year and the different funding applications attained to produce these high quality events.
