New Women’s Representative Squad Manager appointed

Karl Davy has been appointed as manager of the Women’s Representative Squad ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Karl, 25, has the task to select a squad to compete in the Southern Counties Cup Competition this season.

The management team working alongside Karl will be confirmed in due course.

Karl prides himself on his high level of professionalism and is looking forward to the challenge ahead: “I’m excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity to manage the Sussex County FA Women’s Representative Squad, as soon as I saw it advertised I knew I needed to throw my name in the hat.

“I have to thank Sussex County FA for the opportunity, I can’t wait to get started, and we have some really exciting talent in the county.

“Making it an enjoyable environment is important for me as I feel footballers play better with smiles on their faces,” said Karl.

During his playing career, Karl played in and around the London area and competed up to Isthmian Football League level. From a young age he began coaching and decided to focus on pursuing a coaching career rather than playing.

Karl, who currently manages Worthing Ladies, has an ample managerial experience; he previously took the reins at Carshalton Athletic under-14s and Lewes FC Women Foundation who won their respective league last season. He has also coached at Dartford FC under-16s and Brentford FC development centres.
