Paul is the longest serving staff member having joined the Sussex County FA in March 1999.

In his role Paul is responsible for the day-to-day finances of the company, providing the board with up-to-date reports, payroll, completing VAT returns and end of year accounts in conjunction with the auditors.

Paul played football in the East Grinstead area for a few teams, but mostly for Stone Quarry United,  where he also undertook various other roles such as chairman, secretary, treasurer and kit man to name a few. He was also a qualified referee, mainly refereeing on a Sunday morning, when not playing, his highlight being the time he was appointed as assistant referee to a cup final at Crawley Town.

Paul made a playing comeback turning out for our staff team, but had to hang up his boots for good due to picking up a serious ankle injury in one of our games. 'Basty' as he is affectionately known also played cricket on a Sunday afternoon for a number of years.
