The UK’s leading children’s charity, the NSPCC has been working hard to keep children safe for over 140 years, and we hope to raise as much money as possible to support their fantastic work.
Over 80% of the NSPCC’s income comes from donations from people who can help make sure the charity is there to help any child who needs them.
In 2022/23 the charity delivered almost 200,000 Childline counselling sessions through their service for children and young people.
Donations also help cover the cost of answering a call to the NSPCC Helpline, with the service responding to over 59,000 contacts from people concerned for a child’s welfare in 2022/23.
The NSPCC are currently working towards their three impact goals for 2031; for everyone to play their part to prevent child abuse, for every child to be safe online, and for children to feel safe, listened to and are supported.
Ken Benham, Chief Executive of the Sussex County FA, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to continue our support for our charitable partners, the NSPCC.
“With the help of the Sussex football community we can hopefully raise as much as possible at the Sussex Community Shield to ensure their valuable work protecting children continues.”
