Join the Sussex RA-FA Youth Council

Sussex RA-FA Youth Council are recruiting!

The Sussex RA-FA Youth Council are looking for referees aged 16-25 years old to join them and help improve and develop refereeing in Sussex.

The Youth Council consist of a group of ambitious match officials that volunteer within Sussex to aid the development of referees within Sussex. They run various events throughout a season, either face to face or online, with guest speakers in attendance from the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL).

Being part of the group provides an opportunity to work alongside the Sussex County FA and experienced match officials to aid the development of referees across the county.

Members of the Youth Council vary from Level 8 to 4, so all levels of match officials are welcome to apply.

Red Egan, Sussex RA-FA Youth Council Chair said: “"I have been on the Youth Council since 2017 and it has been one of the best things I have ever signed up for.

“Organising events to help develop other referees in Sussex is very rewarding, it also gives you the opportunity to meet lots of great referees, and attend National Development events at places such as Villa Park, Molineux and Warwick University. Networking with fellow referees from up and down the country aids your own development and you build bonds, I keep in contact with many of them to this day.

“The Sussex RA-FA Youth Council is a fantastic opportunity to work closely in partnership with the Sussex County FA, to help build and develop the next set of top Referees in Sussex. We would welcome referees of any level to join us, all we ask of you is that you are committed to the team and developing yourself and colleagues.
