Paul Amoo - Match Official of the Year

Match Official of the Year: Paul Amoo

The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards

We are delighted to announce that Paul Amoo has won our Grassroots Match Official of the Year Award as part of The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards.

The awards aim to recognise and reward volunteers, match officials, clubs and leagues across the county who have made a difference to grassroots football in their local community.

Paul presents himself on and off the pitch in the most professional manner, yet he still manages to shine his friendly personality through the professional conduct.

Paul turns up to every fixture with a smile, every single one, no matter what. That's quite a special, and an extremely important, talent.

When Paul is around he gives off a happy vibe that is catching for all those around him. Paul not only referees to a level that is fair and consistent, but he takes the time to ensure that all the players with a disability, understand his decisions.

He takes time to speak to them and explain why that decision has been made and gains the respect of all the players, coaches, and volunteers.

Paul is not just a referee; he is the heartbeat of an event when in attendance. He will go above and beyond the role of a referee. He will set up the pitches, support younger referees, support with fixtures changes, take time to speak to people and ensure that everyone is included and happy.
