Coach of the Year (Youth): Alice Partridge

The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards

We are delighted to announce that Horsham Sparrows coach, Alice Partridge, has won our Grassroots Coach of the Year (Youth) Award as part of The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards.

The awards aim to recognise and reward volunteers, match officials, clubs and leagues across the county who have made a difference to grassroots football in their local community.

Alice is the coach for the Horsham Sparrows Under-11s girls, based in Horsham, West Sussex. Her work as coach is exceptional, bringing together all abilities of young players to build a team, coach, and train them in the best and most supportive way, increasing individual confidence and team commitment.

She is a wonderful role model for young girls looking at football, she takes special care with this team, who have become a wonderfully spirited team.

Her work is personal and caring, and helps all abilities achieve their best on and off the pitch. She organises games, training, socials, tournaments, and manages everything around a very busy life as she studies at University and plays for the women's team.

She has made a massive difference to a group of young girls who now see themselves as footballers and are part of a team.

The girls are diverse in abilities, from those who have never played to those who have played regularly. Alice is supportive of them all. The club itself has made football available and affordable to every family, building community around the playing of football.

Alice and the club have been amazing in opening their arms to welcome all girls into playing competitive and enjoyable football.
