WEURO General Sale Open

UEFA Women's EURO hits General Sale

Tickets go on sale for the biggest Women’s EURO ever

Tickets are officially on general sale for the UEFA Women’s EURO England 2022, and to mark the occasion, tournament organisers have unveiled giant women’s table football players on London’s iconic Carnaby Street.

With 100 days to go until the biggest European women’s sport event in history kicks off, the installation, featuring nine feet tall women’s players, suspended five metres above Carnaby Street, celebrates the scale and importance of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 by repurposing the traditionally male-dominated table football game.

More than 350,000 tickets of the over 700,000 available have already sold for the tournament in the pre-sale, public ballot and group bookings stage. It means UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 is set to be a record-breaking event already, beating the previous tournament record of 240,000 set at UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 in the Netherlands.

With tickets to all 31 games going on sale, now is the chance for fans of football, women’s sport, and big events to purchase a ticket and be part of a history making tournament that aims to unite football and communities and amplify the growth of the women’s game.

Chris Bryant, Tournament Director for UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, added: “This is it now. We are just 100 days out from what promises to be a huge, history making spectacle for women’s football.

“We have made a great start already regarding ticket sales. It’s a case now of putting all the final plans in place and generating the excitement around a major sporting event that England has done so well previously.

“This is an opportunity to open up women’s football to new audiences. We wanted to make a bold statement and the installation in Carnaby Street is evident of that. I would encourage anyone who has not already got a ticket to snap them up soon, especially as we are expecting all the available tickets for several matches including all England games and the Final to be purchased soon after going on sale.”

16 nations take part in this year’s tournament which will be played out across England. 10 venues in nine cities will play host to 31 games including Brighton & Hove, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Rotherham, Sheffield, Southampton, Trafford and Wigan & Leigh.

Fans will be able to watch some of the best players in the world compete, including 2020/21 UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Alexia Putellas of Spain, who will be expected to start in their games at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes, and Brentford Community Stadium in London.

BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2021 Vivianne Miedema is due to lead the line for holders Netherlands at Bramall Lane in Sheffield and Leigh Sports Village in Wigan & Leigh. Stars of the French and Italian teams will entertain the New York stadium in Rotherham and the Manchester City Academy.

Whilst England Women’s all-time top goal scorer Ellen White will be expected to feature once again and get fans excited at their games in Trafford, Brighton & Hove and Southampton, with St. Mary’s also playing host to all of Northern Ireland’s group games.

UEFA Women’s EURO England 2022 brings the tournament back to England for the first time since 2005. Tickets are priced from £5 - £50, with a family of four [two adults and two children] able to watch some of the world’s best players from just £30 or £45 for England games, a semi-final or the final.

The eye-catching Carnaby Street installation, which features players representing the top-seeded team in each group (England, Germany, Netherlands and France) will be live from 28 March to 10 April.

Simon Quayle, Executive Director at Shaftesbury says: “We are delighted that Carnaby will host the UEFA Women's EURO 2022 installation to celebrate this important football event. We are all excited that England will be holding this prestigious event and are excited to see this activation come to life."

A smaller traditional-sized Women’s EURO table football game is also on display, which passers-by are free to use, featuring teams from England and Austria, who kick off the tournament at Old Trafford on 6 July.
