Level 1 Coaching Bursary

FA Level 1 Coaching Bursaries Available

New funding invested to support clubs

Funding has been made available for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons for youth clubs with teams without an FA qualified coach.

The Coaching Bursary is being provided as a part of The FA’s Club Programme, an integral part of the National Game Strategy 2018-21 as it seeks to develop grassroots clubs to meet modern players’ and parents’ needs.

Furthermore, all youth players will not only experience a safe, fun and inclusive environment, but also receive coaching which encourages their development, learning and understanding of the game.

To be eligible, you just need to be an affiliated Youth Football Club without an FA qualified coach.

The FA invested £1.8 million during the 2018/19 season into coaching bursaries via County FAs, of which £1.2 million is into FA Level 1 Coaching Education opportunities.

With the assistance of The FA network, we can continue the transformation of youth football to achieve 100% of youth teams having a qualified coach by 2021.

Our Football Development Officer, Paul Kwatia, had this to say: “Making football in Sussex a safe, fun and inclusive environment is at the forefront of what we do. Our aim is for all youth clubs in Sussex to have an FA qualified coach to ensure children are in the best possible environment.”
