Equality

Sussex County FA recognised for Equality

Foundation Level of Equality achieved in the Sports Standards

Football belongs to, and should be enjoyed by, anyone who wants to participate in it which makes us proud to announce we have achieved the Foundation Level of Equality.

It is a statement that has driven us to continue our commitment to equality in football and we are elated to have been recognised for our efforts.

The nationally recognised award acknowledges our commitment to tackle discrimination and harassment, whether that be by ethnicity, colour, race, nationality, religion or belief, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, disability, age, pregnancy, maternity, marital or civil partnership status.

This summer our Disability Representative Squad has made fantastic progress, being recognised in our annual awards ceremony this year for their win at the South East Regional Disability Tournament

As a result, tackling these issues as well as reducing socio-economic inequalities within the game, is what we are dedicated to deliver to remind everyone that football is “For All’.

Our lead equality officer, Jade Harker said: “We are very pleased that our work on inclusion and equality has been recognised in this way and we hope that this will encourage members from underrepresented groups to step forward and join the football family here in Sussex.”
