Review equality and inclusion at your club

Inclusion Advisory Group offering support to clubs

Our Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) are offering their expertise to help Sussex-based clubs with their approach to Equality and Inclusion, ensuring that clubs are open and accessible For ALL!

Members of the IAG will, at the request of clubs and free of any charge, appraise the club website and social media accounts. The review will focus on equality, inclusion, accessibility and diversity; with feedback provided to each club’s secretary individually and privately.

Note: All Charter Standard clubs will automatically be reviewed and contacted in the new year.

Pauline Fox (IAG Chair and Lead Equality Director) said: “All members of the IAG believe that equality, inclusion and diversity can be shown in many ways through the power of social media, and this theory shouldn’t only apply to the County FA.

“We would like to assist all affiliated clubs to increase their awareness and knowledge in these areas, making their club open to all.”

The advice provided is purely guidance and is not mandatory, but it would be great to see as many clubs as possible taking part in this initiative.

Football belongs to, and should be enjoyed by, anyone who wants to participate in it. The IAG’s aim is to ensure people from all backgrounds can participate to the full extent of their own ambitions and abilities, regardless of their age, sex, gender re-assignment, disability, marital and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race or sexual orientation.
