Our Awards Evening took place at the American Express Community Stadium on Thursday 20 September 2018, and recognised the achievements of those people and organisations that drive grassroots football in Sussex.

The evening encompasses The FA & McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, The FA Referee Awards, and various Sussex County FA awards championing volunteers, clubs, organisations and referees.

Around two hundred people from across Sussex were in attendance at the event to recognise the invaluable work which is being carried out by this year’s recipients. 

Special guest presenters, Alan Mullery MBE, Martin Bodenham, Johnny Cantor and David Crick each presented awards to the award winners and Kelly Simmons, FA Director of Women’s Professional Game was also in attendance to recognise the fantastic work and dedication from across the county. 

Alan Mullery MBE delivered a motivational talk before the break called ‘Never Giving Up,’ he gave an inspirational insight into his professional football career with Fulham, Tottenham and England which began in 1956.
