Chichester City's Clark nominated for Women's Beach Soccer awards

Chichester City Ladies midfielder, Molly Clark has been nominated for ‘Women’s World Player of the Year’ and ‘Best Goal of the Year’ at the 2018 Beach Soccer Stars gala.

Molly Clark plays an important part in Chichester City Ladies squad, who currently sit top of the FA Women’s National League (Southern Division) and has netted 8 goals in 9 games for her team so far this season.

Clark, who plays for England Beach Soccer Women’s national team has been recognised for her hard work and talent by being shortlisted at the 2018 Beach Soccer Worldwide Awards evening.

She is one of three players who have been selected for the Best Women’s Player of the Year award, and the finalists alongside her are Adriele Rocha of Brazil and Marina Fedorova from Russia.

The talented 27-year-old has won the 2017 Euro Beach Soccer Cup with England and finished runner-up in the Euro Winners’ Cup with her beach soccer club side Portsmouth in the past two years.

She has also won the Spanish and Swiss National Championships this year and more recently was awarded the MVP award in the 2018 Euro Winners’ Cup after her strong performance throughout the competition.

Clark’s impressive bicycle kick against Czech Republic from the Euro Winners’ Cup in Portugal this summer has been shortlisted as a top 10 goal of the year (men & women combined) and the winner will be decided by public vote which will be unveiled at the gala.

The awards ceremony will take place in Dubai on Saturday 10 November 2018 where Molly has been invited to attend in the hope of securing at least one of the prestigious prizes.

As the sport unfortunately receives limited funding, Molly and the England Beach Soccer team have created a Crowdfunder page for financial support to enable her to attend the evening.
