VACANCY: Assistant Safeguarding Officer

The Sussex County FA is seeking to recruit an Assistant Designated Safeguarding Officer to ensure that safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is at the heart of everything within the organisation.

The Assistant Designated Safeguarding Officer role will report directly to the Designated Safeguarding Officer.

The new role is designed to support the Designated Safeguarding Officer when dealing with Safeguarding concerns, including poor practice reports and will require the capacity to handle confidential data/information sensitively.

The successful candidate will have a key role in the provision and administration of The FA’s Safeguarding Education programme.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate within their application their ability to deliver the essential and desirable knowledge, experience and skills identified in the role profile.

The successful applicant must have the ability to prioritise and plan as well as being able to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills.

Normal hours of work are 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and the position will receive four weeks annual holiday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary: £20,000 to £22,000 plus benefits
Please note this role is offered on a fixed term funding agreement the Sussex County FA have with The FA until 30 June 2019.

The interview process:
Those shortlisted will be required to attend an interview day. Members of the panel will include the Sussex County FA’s Chief Executive Officer, the existing Designated Safeguarding Officer and also one other member of the organisation.
