Wildcats are GO in Sussex

    •

An SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Club aims to be a safe environment where girls can have fun, develop new skills and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

Girls aged 5-11 will be given the opportunity to get involved in football through fun sessions that encourage friendships, character-building and fitness/healthy lifestyle. There are 200 SSE Wildcats Girls‘ Football Clubs across the country, all helping to achieve The FA goal of doubling women and girls’ football participation by 2020.

Across Sussex there are currently five pilot Wildcats Girls' Football Clubs, each is being run in partnership with a local organisation. The Sussex County FA hope to sustain these Centres and expand the programme to different areas in the future.

Each club will run for this summer term and into the summer holidays and players can join at any time. It is advisable to contact the club before attending the session in case of any last minute changes or cancellations. A registration and parent consent form MUST be completed before any child can take part in the session.

Clare Nichols, Football Development Officer for the Sussex County FA, said: “The SSE Wildcats FC programme is a great new initiative focusing on 5 to 11 year old girls. It is so important for young girls to experience sport outside of the school environment at a young age and we hope the introduction of these turn up and play clubs will be a positive environment to enthuse the girls for lifelong participation in sport!”
