Training/Fitness Test

The Sussex County FA Referees’ Committee has adopted a Referee Fitness Test Policy, which outlines all aspects relating to SCFA Fitness Tests, including eligibility and the requirements in relation to attendance and non-attendance. Please take the opportunity to download this document and read it through carefully ahead of the up coming tests.

Sussex County FA 2010 Referee Fitness Tests

Thursday 13th May 2010
K2 Leisure Centre, Crawley - 6.30pm Registration for a 6.45pm Start

Sunday 6th June 2010
Withdean Sports Stadium, Brighton – 9.30am Registration for a 9.45am Start

Sunday 11th July 2010
Withdean Sports Stadium, Brighton – 10.00am Registration for a 10.15am Start
(This will follow The FA’s Level 3/4 Fitness Tests)

Referees taking the test must inform the SCFA Referees’ Department of their intention to participate. At the event participants will be asked to sign an Informed Consent Form confirming their suitability in order to take the test.

Please note the following Referees will be eligible to take the test:-

1. Sussex County Football League Closed List Referees

2. Promotion Candidates (Level 7 to 6 and Level 6 to 5) on the 2010/11 season scheme.

3. Academy Group Referees.

In addition any other Registered Referee who wishes to undertake the test will of course be able to, but must apply in writing (email is acceptable) to the SCFA Referees’ Department.

Referees are recommended to prepare fully for the test and the Sussex County FA have the right to refuse a test if the Doctor present deems (in the candidate’s interest) he/she should not run.

Referees are reminded that they must nominate, in writing, the date of their test. The reasons being are to allow the SCFA…

a) to avoid track congestion

b) to provide appropriate numbers of supervisors/officials
