The FA Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Unit

The FA believes that football should be safe and enjoyable for all children and has now introduced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks to help in this process.

The FA CRB Unit was established in October 2003 to manage the disclosure process throughout affiliated football and to comply with the Government legislation. The CRB checks are part of The FA programme for the safeguarding of children in the game and an important addition to the extensive education and awareness raising programmes already in place through The FA's Child Protection and Best Practice programme, GOAL!

The Certificate is valid for three years. All CRB checks in football should go through The FA CRB Unit.

How do you apply?

The FA will process all checks using the CRB form. These will be issued by The FA and will be coded to identify the form as one of The FA forms. For this reason individuals should not apply for a CRB certificate on any other form than supplied by The FA.
