Safeguarding Children Workshop
You may appreciate that it is best practice for all individuals with roles with children in football to have completed The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop. These are three hour workshops which encourage a safer and more enjoyable environment for everyone in football. The course raises awareness of poor practice and abuse and advises on the actions to take when a concern is raised.
Your Club or League may wish to ask all individuals who have a role with children in football to complete the Safeguarding Children Workshop in order that they are aware of their responsibilities to children and appropriate conduct.
The Safeguarding Children Workshop costs £25.00 per person (£20.00 for Charter Standard Clubs). If you wish to attend the Workshop, please click on this link.
Re-certification
It is best practice for an individual to renew their learning regarding safeguarding every 3 years. If you attended the Safeguarding Children Workshop over 3 years ago, you should complete an FA re-certification pack. This is a leaflet and checklist which costs £10.00.
You can obtain the re-certification pack by telephoning 0845 210 8080.
Welfare Officer Workshop
The FA outlines that it is mandatory for Welfare Officers to have completed The Welfare Officer Workshop by the start of season 2010–2011.
This is a separate three hour workshop designed to provide Welfare Officers in grassroots youth football with an understanding and appreciation of their role. It explains where they can get advice and support. Participants will also learn how to put in place proactive measures to safeguard children and develop an action plan.
The Welfare Officer Workshop costs £10.00 per person. If you wish to attend the Workshop, please click on this link.
