The main points to remember are that:

  • The child’s welfare is paramount
  • Reassure the child, don’t make promises of confidentiality or outcome, keep questions to a minimum
  • Know who else can help you as there is support within football and in the community
The following people/organisations may help you deal with a concern:

  • The Club Welfare Officer
  • The Youth League Welfare Officer
  • Catherine Larner, County Welfare Officer (01903 753547 / 07525 667076)
  • The FA Case Management Department (0844 9808200)
  • The Police
