Currently, The Sussex County FA offers bursaries to teachers from Charter Standard School’s all Coaching/Teaching courses run by The FA/Sussex County FA.
Now the English Schools FA (ESFA) has introduced a new Bursary Scheme for Teachers supported by The FA Football Development Programme.
The ESFA is the Governing body for Schools Football competitions. The ESFA currently run 22 national competitions for Primary and Secondary aged children providing Inter School, Inter District and Inter County competitions. In the 2004/5 season over 13,600 teams will take part in local, regional and national ESFA competitions providing a unique and fun experience for every boy and girl that participates. On top of this, thousands more teams will compete in Local Schools Association competitions for both boys and girls run by volunteer teachers up and down the country. The ESFA is supported by the FA in providing bursaries for teachers to gain FA qualifications to assist them to run school teams.
Grants are awarded to applicants to be used to support the teacher to gain an FA qualification that will assist them to run an Out of School Hours football activity/school team. Grants will be issued for up to a maximum of 75% of the course cost.
Application may be submitted at any time following the successful completion of an FA Coaching/Teaching course or prior to a course you have been accepted onto. You will be notified within six to eight weeks of your application being received.
Applicants must not have received an ESFA bursary within the last 12 months.
SCHEME CRITERIA
Teachers of Primary, Secondary and Special Education. Teachers must provide evidence that they will be running an Out of School Hours football activity/school team.
Teachers must provide evidence of attending or being enrolled on an FA coaching course. All applicants must fully complete the application form (attached in brochure). The person completing the form must sign the declaration. The Headteacher of the school must sign the declaration and provide a short endorsements statement.
