EDUCATION COURSES OFFERED BY THE SUSSEX COUNTY FA

Effective January 2008, the following education courses for teachers are no longer available :
FA Top Sport Football
FA Top Up module
FA Teaching Certificates : KS2, KS3 & 4


From spring 2008, teachers and those working in schools will be offered a new range of modular FA courses as follows :


Curriculum KS2 : (6 hours)
To support non-PE specialist primary teachers and coaches working in education.

Out of School Hours Learning (OSHL) : (4 hours)
Supporting teachers and coaches in planning and delivery of appropriate OHSL programmes.

JFO Teacher : (6.5 hrs)
To train teachers or FA Level 2 qualified coaches to deliver the JFO course to students within their school.

JFO Student : (6.5 hrs)
To train students aged 14-19 to be young leaders within a football setting.
Beginners Guide to Coaching Disabled Footballers (4.5hrs)

For teachers working in special or mainstream education, providing ideas on practical delivery and inclusive football.

Beginners Guide to Coaching Futsal (3hrs)
For secondary school teachers, young leaders or coaches providing basic introduction to the game.

Football Mentor (6hrs)
Key target: secondary school teachers to support other teachers (secondary or primary) to develop football in their school or out of the curriculum.

Mentoring Leaders (3 hrs)
For teachers, FE staff and Charter Standard club coaches responsible for young leaders as part of Step into Sport.

Working with Teams (5 hrs)
For primary or non-specialist secondary teachers, Level 1 coaches or young leaders. Provides practical ideas on running teams including work around team talks, philosophy and formations.

Movement and Handling ( 3hrs)
For primary teachers, level 1 coaches and young leaders. Practical ideas to develop fundamental movement and handling skills.
