For whom ?
Participants aged 17+ years who have completed the FA/1st4Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football (L1CCF) and coaches who are intending to progress to FA/1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football.
Pre-requisites :
Enrolments may be accepted from participants who have not yet completed L1CCF, but can demonstrate considerable, recent playing and / or coaching experience and hold the following awards:
• FA Emergency Aid award (or equivalent).
• FA Safeguarding Children workshop.
Participants holding the L1CCF should check validity of above awards to ensure that certificates are still current prior to enrolment on the preparatory course. Above awards are valid for 3 years from date of issue.

Content overview:
The preparatory course is an introduction to the technical aspects of football coaching and the pedagogy involved in successful delivery of structured practices and small sided games which are essential features of the L2CCF. The preparatory course includes the application of the theoretical aspects of coaching to practical scenarios, practices and small sided games showing the development and transition from Level 1 activities to those typically included at Level 2.

• Effective communication.
• Skill acquisition and development models.
• Player analysis.
Practical components :
* Passing. * Goalkeeping

* Shooting. * Attacking play : 2v2 ; 4v4 ; *6v6

Completion :
The course is practically-based, involving demonstration sessions delivered by approved Sussex FA Learning Coach Educators with extensive experience of tutoring/assessing at FA 1st4Sport L1 and L2CCF. Participants should therefore advise course tutors of any learning or medical conditions which may affect ability to fully participate in demonstration sessions prior to commencing the course.
Upon completion of the course, participants are awarded the SCFA Level 2 Football Coaching Preparatory Course certificate and will therefore be eligible to claim a discounted rate for enrolment on any future FA/1st4Sport L2CCF course provided by Sussex FA Learning.
