Please Note: To attend this course, as a pre-requisite you must have attended both the FA/Goal Safeguarding Children and Good Practise Workshops and the FA Emergency Aid course, and hold a valid certificate of attendance.
Due to the demand for courses imposed by FA guidelines places will be limited. Therefore, it is recommended that you apply for a place without delay to avoid desappointment. Course Contents: Basic anatomy, kinesiology and code of ethics for therapy, pathology and recognition of injuries. Assessment: 20 minutes practical/oral and 45 minutes theory paper.

For whom ?
This is a foundation qualification aimed at voluntary personnel who may be managers, coaches, trainers or therapists for amateur and youth teams or teachers responsible for school teams. The course offers opportunity to recognise and differentiate major from minor injuries and the ability to offer basic treatment and injury management to a player who has sustained an injury whilst playing football.

Enrolment
Candidates must be 16 years old, hold a current FA Emergency Aid certificate (or equivalent) and have evidence of having attended an FA Child Protection & Best Practice Workshop within the last 3 years. See ‘course dates’ for scheduled courses and download an application from this website.

Course content
Basic anatomy, kinesiology & Code of Ethics for Therapy
Pathology and recognition of injuries Introduction to basic treatment and management of injuries & injury prevention.

Assessment
20 minute practical / oral assessment and a 45 minute theory paper.
