The Sussex County FA offers a wide range of nationally recognized Coaching and Medical courses, below you will find a brief description of each course on offer.

LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE IN COACHING FOOTBALL
The knowledge gained from this qualification will enable you to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective football coaching to young people. (16 years of age or above).

AGE APPROPRIATE COACHING - INTRODUCTORY MODULE

A six hour course aimed at those working with young players, who want to improve their knowledge and understanding of the ‘what’ and ‘how’ to coach young players.

SUSSEX FA – FA YOUTH AWARD MODULE 1 – DEVELOPING THE ENVIRONMENT
This brand new qualification, which forms the first of three parts of The FA Youth Qualification, is a critical tool to support coaches working with young players and is an innovative qualification devised by The Football Association to further support the development of young players in England.

SUSSEX FA – FA YOUTH AWARD MODULE 2 – DEVELOPING THE PRACTICE
This brand new qualification, which forms the first of three parts of The FA Youth Qualification, is a critical tool to support coaches working with young players and is an innovative qualification devised by The Football Association to further support the development of young players in England.

LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN COACHING FOOTBALL
For participants aged 17+ and who have completed the Level 1 award and/or can demonstrate considerable playing and/or coaching experience. This course develops the necessary expertise and understanding in designing practices and games to improve player and team performance. The course is 10 days duration in total (please see detailed description for further information). N.B.: All days must be fully attended in order to complete the course.

LEVEL 2 CONTINUATION AND FINAL ASSESSEMENTS
These dates are an opportunity for all candidates requiring course support and / or Assessment for FA/1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football. Candidates undertaking initial courses of training with Sussex FA Learning will automatically be advised of all dates which they should attend upon enrolment.

Sussex FA Learning candidates who have deferred their Final Assessment or require re-assessment must contact Sussex FA Learning to enrol on required dates.

Candidates requiring support and / or assessment / re-assessment from external sources or other approved Centres must contact Sussex FA Learning to enrol on required dates.

FA LEVEL 1 GOALKEEPING AWARDS
This is a new course for coaches who wish to learn the basic technical aspects of Goalkeeping. It is an ideal course for those coaches who have completed the Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football and who wish to develop their technical expertise in Goalkeeping further.

FA INTRODUCTION TO COACHING DISABLED FOOTBALLERS COURSE
The Coaching Disabled Footballers course is designed to give football coaches and teachers ideas and practices for the inclusion of disabled players in football sessions within mainstream or impairment specific sessions.

FA INTRODUCTORY CERTIFICATE IN COACHING ADULTS
This course is FREE for coaches or volunteers affiliated to FA Charter Standard Clubs.
The course is intended for those who may be new to the formal coaching and administration of an adult football club or team.

FA INTRODUCTION TO COACHING FUTSAL
This workshop is an introduction to Futsal – either as a player or a coach. The workshops are practically-based with lots of opportunity to get involved and learn the basic rules of the game as you play.

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN WORKSHOPS (Child Protection) These are three hour workshops which aim to encourage a safer environment for everyone. You will be encouraged to discuss some of the most important Child Protection issues in football. The aim is to explore what appropriate and inappropriate behaviour looks sounds and feels like. Clear guidance is given on best practice in football and on what actions should be taken if there are worries about the welfare of a child or young person.

FA WELFARE OFFICER WORSHOPS
In order to take part in these workshops your Club Child Protection Officer must have;
• An enhanced CRB Disclosure via The FA CRB Unit and have a positive recruitment decision
• Attended a FA Child Protection and Best Practice Workshop within the last 3 years.

EMERGENCY AID WORKSHOPS

EMERGENCY AID WORKSHOPS FOR CLUBS are also catered for but please be aware that we need at least 20 working days notice to arrange them.
The FA Emergency Aid award is a 3 hour workshop which includes basic first aid, CPR and is a necessary pre-requisite element for all FA/1st4Sport Coaching awards.
The award is valid for 3 years from the date of issue and must be regularly renewed in order to comply with FA CPD regulations.

FIRST AID FOR SPORT
Those involved in a variety of roles in football eg coaches , officials, players, parents. Candidates must be 16 years old, hold a current Emergency Aid certificate (or equivalent) and complete an FA Child Protection workshop within 2 months of completing this course for certification to be issued.

LEVEL 2 TREATMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF INJURY
This is a foundation qualification aimed at voluntary personnel who may be managers, coaches, trainers or therapists for amateur and youth teams or teachers responsible for school teams. The course offers opportunity to recognise and differentiate major from minor injuries and the ability to offer basic treatment and injury management to a player who has sustained an injury whilst playing football.
